Monday was a packed day for these students in their visit to Israel

Mark 1:9-13New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)The Baptism of Jesus
9 In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove on him. 11 And a voice came from heaven, “You are my Son, the Beloved;[a] with you I am well pleased.”

I'm in awe with the experiences that these students from the University of Northwestern are having this week. On Sunday, my wife received a text letting us know that this morning they had their morning devotions along the sea of Galilee. Later that morning, the students rode the boat across the sea of Galilee, the site of much of Jesus's public ministry.  He informed us that they will be traveling through the Jordon rift where they will have the opportunity to be baptized near the area that Jesus himself was baptized.   They plan on seeing Beth Shan   Border road to the dead sea, Jericho, Qumran (cave number 1)EnGedi and finally the dead sea swim.

I am amazed and delighted that these students are able to experience these biblical sites that are in the book of life, otherwise known as the bible.

"Father God, I praise you for giving these students the opportunity to spend 13 days in the land of the bible, to walk in your footprints, to see the sites written about in your glorious word provided to us. I pray for Monday's trip through the Jordan Rift where they will have the opportunity to be baptized in the area that our Lord Jesus was baptized. Thank you, Jesus, for all that you have provided, for all of the biblical experiences that will last a lifetime in the minds of these students. Amen.
