Hebrews 13: 1 Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.
I've learned there are many, many people in this world that are hurting. We have a choice in life to either sit in the mire of their pain and listen to them process that pain, or we can get up and keep walking, leaving those who are damaged behind.
The former is only possible through the power of the Holy Spirit, and furthermore only possible if we choose to step off the throne of our life and allow Jesus to become the master of our destiny. When you think about it there is nothing good when man or woman decides to captains their own lives.
I'm reminded of this whenever I read Romans 7::8, " But by means of that commandment, sin found its chance to stir up all kinds of selfish desires in me. There is nothing good when a man decides to play god because man will do whatever it takes to maintain his or her status quo even if it means destroying other people around them.
As a child I love to sing the song, 'This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine' because, I think, it illustrates do poignantly the power of God's spirit inside the life of a believer.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oNcmrhoZvI
As followers of Jesus Christ, we were meant to be a lighthouse in the darkness that surrounds us. Around us, there are people in incredible amounts of emotional pain who are constantly filled with flashbacks from the trauma that has afflicted their lives.
Many are searching for any ray of light, any ray of hope, but because of their natural man blindness, they are unable to find it. All they see is darkness and people who try to keep them in that darkness with condescending personal attacks that leave them defeated.
When they are unable to find this light and then in the distance see your light they are encouraged to press on. You see, when we are constantly going to Church to worship, spending time in the word of God we cannot help but shine in such a way that the world around us takes notice. You might have been the recipient of comments like, "why are you so happy", "why are you always so positive in this world when all I see is hopelessness?"
We are the light of this world. A light that shines hope because of the holy spirit is given to us through Christ Jesus makes us the light to every person, every nationality, every culture, and every religious person.
Let your light shine as a light of hope in the hurting world around you.
