On Saturday, Linda and I celebrated the life of Richard Case, a friend we were cherish to know through Linda's closest friends at Meadow Creek Christian Academy.

Saturday was a day of opposite emotions when I attended a celebration of life service for one of the founders of Chapel Hill Academy in Chanhassen, a personal connection through some dear friends of ours. Later that day we went to a wedding reception for a young couple with visions of joining the mission field where they met and fell in love.

I want to celebrate the life of Richard Case, a former Hopkins school teacher, devoted husband and father to his 3 children, and a man who strove to know his living Savior and help others know Him better.

Richard Case began his life as a southern Minnesota farm boy in a loving family during the Great Depression. He was the youngest of 4 children.

Here in his boyhood, he gained a love for fishing as he and his friend spent time down by the river near his home. Starting in junior high, Dick also enjoyed being involved in team sports- especially basketball.  It was during his college years that he met his life-long sweetheart, Jeanie, and for him, it was love at first sight!  They were married and blest with three children. Dick received his teaching degree and was an educator in the Hopkins School District for 20 years. While working for Hopkins School District he was offered the Principalship at Chapel Hill Academy (CHA) where he served for 24 years with dedication, humility, and a joyful spirit.  While away two years from CHA, Dick helped start up a new Christian School in northern Minnesota.

He was involved in Bible Study Fellowship for many years, and when he retired from CHA in 2000, he continued to enjoy the fellowship he had with other believers. Dick was a loving and faithful husband and father, who had a grateful heart for God saving him, and who felt privileged to be in Christian ministry with such gifted staff and the support of loving-hearted families.

His last days were spent at home in hospice, where he could receive love from and give love to his family. He passed into the presence of the Lord in peace in the early morning hours of December 27th, 2021.
